eBook FAQs

Refund policy

NO REFUNDS will be offered for ebooks after payment goes through via Paypal and downloads are made available. Therefore, please consider carefully whether you would prefer to buy the ebook from us or printed book from Lulu.

Getting your ebook

The ebook will be made available as a downloadable ZIP file and NOT via email immediately after payment has been approved from PayPal.

To download your ebook, just log in to your account and navigate to the order history page. View your order history and click the red "Download" button to begin your download.

The download may take some time depending on your network speed as the ZIP file is slightly less than 7 MB.

Customers who paid via eChecks will only be able to download their ebooks after their eChecks clear. According to PayPal, this process may take anywhere from 4 -11 business days. Note that in the meantime, your account may show the amount as cleared although the funds may not have reached our account. For further details on eCheck clearing times, please consult PayPal's site.

Buying our stamped ebooks

Select the product you are interested in and click the "Add to Cart" button to begin checking out.

You will be prompted to create an account with our store if you have not already done so.

During the checkout process, you will be redirected from our store to PayPal's site to make payment.

After payment is completed on PayPal's site, you will be redirected back to our store if payment is processed successfully.

At this point in time, you should check your email inbox for an order confirmation email and inform us immediately if you do not receive it. Do check your SPAM settings and Junk/Trash folder before that though.

Note: Currently, we accept payment only via PayPal. For customers who have never used PayPal, rest assured you can still use your credit card to make your purchase securely on their site. If you wish to receive the book immediately instead of waiting several days, remember to avoid using eChecks as a PayPal payment option.

What's with the stamped ebook?

Our ebooks are stamped to discourage piracy. They are actually normal PDFs with the buyer's name and email address super-imposed on every page.

Normal PDF functions like printing, searching, zooming etc are allowed and no passwords are required to unlock the ebook.

This is radically different from the copy-protected ebook which we offered previously and found to be too restrictive to customers.

Why does clicking anywhere in the ebook bring up my email client (e.g. Outlook Express)?

This behavior is caused by a configuration setting in your PDF reader and not the PDF document itself.

If you are using Adobe Acrobat 8.1 as your PDF reader, you can go to Edit > Preferences. Select 'General' from the Categories left-panel and then uncheck 'Create links from URL' in the Basic Tools section. Click Ok when done and restart your PDF reader to re-load the PDF and you shouldn't experience the same problem again.

If you are using Adobe Acrobat 7.0, you should uncheck 'Automatically detect URLs from text' instead.

Do adapt the above instructions to suit your particular PDF reader's requirements if it is not from Adobe.

Do I get a free ebook if I buy the printed book?

The ebook and printed book are sold as separate products on different sites. We do not offer free ebooks for customers who have purchased the printed copies or vice versa.

What if I already bought the old copy-protected ebook which is an EXE?

Customers who bought the old copy-protected ebook (in .EXE format) are entitled to a free upgrade to the PDF ebook.

We have completed the free PDF upgrades exercise to older EXE customers already. If you still have not received your PDF ebook, please kindly check your Spam/Junk/Trash folder.

Do send us an email with your Order Confirmation Number if you are still unable to locate the PDF file.
